You’ve just discovered Chelsea Mews Guest House, New York City’s oldest all-male, gay guest house, built in 1840. It was a simpler time and our now bustling city of more than eight million was home to a mere 313,000. There were no subways, no taxis, and very few hotels. Travelers from all around the world turned to the city’s privately owned guest houses to find a comfortable place to rest their head and a sense of community while they were away from home.

Almost two centuries later, our guests can experience the same carefree feeling in an upbeat, gay, clothing-optional environment located in the heart of Chelsea, just moments away from the city’s most fashionable shops, restaurants and gay night life. Our private guest house is decorated primarily with authentic Early American furnishings. Each of our rooms contains Tempur-Pedic mattresses for a luxurious night’s sleep. There are no check-in or check-out times, no hidden fees and our prices are only a fraction of what you’d pay to stay in a hotel. Whether you are planning a one-night stay or extended visit, it is our pleasure to welcome you.
